2011 SLVYRA Trophy Awards - Detail

More details are presented below on the award presentations for 2011. The details below show the citations for the winners of the Trophies this year.

Jolly Widow Trophy (Fireball)

Joe Jospe, with 5 GNS series wins, takes the Jolly Widow trophy again this year. Joe managed 19 bullets in the 2011 GNS series.

 

Gables Court Club (Shark)

The 2011 winner of the Quebec Shark counter regatta was David Foy sailing on “Crazy Ivan”, taking home the Gables Court trophy. “Crazy Ivan” was also Shark of the Year for 2011 and winner of the Shark World Championships.

 

Deb Trophy (J24)

Nicolas Mabboux, sailing out of PCYC in “Bay Gull” wins this award for 2011. Bay Gull was first J24 at the Hudson Long Distance race and came in 2nd in the Sunday series Labour Day weekend.

 

Hoskins Trophy (Laser)

Winner for best results in Laser class. Philippe Dormoy, with a 1st place District 1, 1st place District 2, and 10th place 2011 Cork Championship.

 

Kent Trophy (Tanzer 22)

John Nasser on “Maverick” sailing out of HYC was 1st Tanzer in the Hudson Long Distance race, 2nd place PHRF III Labour day Sunday series, and 3rd overall in the Lake of Two Mountains Wednesday series.

 

Myrtle Cook (Women’s Crew)

Denise Bienvenu sailing on “Convictus” is the 2011 winner of the Myrtle Cook held at RSLYC

 

Wayfarer (PHRF II)

Ross Tellier of HYC sailing a Niagara 26, “Redcoat”, 1st in Lake of Two Mountains Wednesday series, 1st Hudson Labour Day Sunday race, and 1st PHRF II in the Hudson Long Distance race wins the 2011 Wayfarer trophy

 

VIM

Doug Anderson helming “Barnacle”, Grampion 26, cleaning up in 2011 GNS racing on Lac St Louis, placed 1st in 3 series, 2nd in 4 series. Barnacle picked up 9 1st place finishes and 10 2nd place finishes.

 

Joan Gandier (Youth)

Frederique Tougas and Florence Pepin-Delhaues, 1ère / 15 - aux Icebreaker 2011, 2ième / 12 - a TRY regatta 2011, 5ième / 27 - aux championnats Canadiens 2011, 6ième / 52 - CORK international, Nord-Américains de 29er 2011, 1ère / 12 - aux Youths National 2011, 3ième / 19 - CORK fall 2011

 

Mirage Cup (PHRF1/A)

Hudson Yacht Club’s Allan Grey on the Etchell “Slim” with a 1st place finish in the Labour Day Long Distance Race, a 1st Place in the Sunday series and 2nd Place in the Lake of Two Mountains Wednesday series wins the 2011 Mirage Cup.

 

Boulanger Trophy (PHRF 1/B)

Ron Harris on “Jack” was 1st overall winner in PHRF 1/B Wednesday series, 15th in Hudson Long distance race, 1st J22 in Hudson series.

 

Goodfellow (PHRF 3)

George Steadman on the shark “Ketchup” wins the 2011 Goodfellow, with 9 first place finishes and 7 seconds, winner of 3 GNS series and first PHRF 3 boat in Hudson Long Distance.

 

EC Woods (One Design)

Nicole Bastet, Jenny Marten and Jessa Chenie, winners of the 2011 CYA Women’s National Keelboat Championship on the J22 “String Theory”, placed 2nd in Lake of Two Mountains Wednesday series, 3rd in the Sunday Labour Day regatta.

 

Slvyra Annual Cruising (International Performance)

Joe Jospe and Tom Egli, 3 time winners of the Fireball North Americans win the International trophy for their performance in the 2011 Ireland Fireball Worlds, placing 26th.
