New SLVYRA Trophy for 2010

The SLVYRA region has many active One Design Keelboat Fleets.  Etchells 22, J-22, J-24, Tanzer 22, Shark, Kirby 25, Niagara 26, Tanzer 7.5, Star  and more.
 
It is often asked which is the biggest one design fleet and who is the top performer in that fleet?
 
Starting in 2010, SLYRYA is promoting a new trophy to recognize the top performer in the top One Design Fleet in our region.  What class you might ask? That is up to you.
 
How it works
Events
SLYVRA has nominated the following regattas as counter events to this trophy.  You will see Lac des Deux Montagne and Lac St.Louis each have a course race and long distance event as part of the series:
                BYC Annual: Course Racing
                Iskoodah Long Distance Race
                CNDM One Design: Course Racing
                Hudson Long Distance Race

Scoring System
A count of participating boats from each class will be made at each event.  The class that has the total best participation will win the first part of the prize.  Then the overall winner of that class as measured by their best 3 of 4 results will be used to name the winner of the Prize on behalf of their class.
 
Prize
A perpetual trophy and Keeper will be awarded to the Class and Class winner at the close of the sailing season.  There is no second place.
