The Archie Cameron Cup is named after a very distinguished and successful sailor of many classes including the Lightning, Y Flyer, Jolly,and Dragons. The trophy started in the early 1980s after Archie passed away. Archie was a dentist, lived near the Yacht Club and was known as a tough competitor. This trophy is usually the last Lightning event of the year.   

 

Russ Scrim, Archie Cameron, and George Layton were a great inspiration to the younger sailors developing in the Lightning class.
